The Region of Waterloo’s Grand River Transit Bus Maintenance Facility will provide the necessary fleet maintenance and storage required to meet transit ridership goals established in the Regional Transportation Master Plan and the Grand River Transit Business Plan. It will accommodate Mobility Plus vehicles, regular buses and articulating buses; articulating buses will be introduced to the fleet beginning in 2021. Pursuing a minimum LEED® Silver Certification this is an energy-efficient/sustainable construction project and includes energy conserving mechanical and electrical equipment, fixtures and controls. The construction of the facility will include reduction, sorting and monitoring of construction waste and site impact.
